You Are Never Lost If You Don’t Care Where You Are

ORIGINAL SOLD

My husband, Steve, sometimes watches a show called “Gold Fever”.  It’s about a man who travels all through the mountains of the west, panning for gold.  This an has turned his passion into a lucrative career, with a cameraman who follows him into remote wilderness and films his every move.  He’s not a casual prospector, either, he knows what he’s doing and where to go and he really does find gold.  The scenery behind him is always pristine, and makes me want to put on a backpack and head off into the woods.  One day he turned to his cameraman and said, “Where are we anyway?”, after which he followed with, “Well, it doesn’t matter, because you’re never lost if you don’t care where you are”.  Steve wrote the words down and hung them above his desk…maybe to remind himself that it’s not so much where you are or where you need to be next…but living the moment you have right now.
