Kokopelli, or the magical flute player, dates back over 3,000 years in the American Southwest, when the first petroglyps were carved into rocks. Known as a fertility god, prankster, healer, and storyteller, it is said that the hunch on his back depicted the sack of seeds and songs that he carried everywhere he went. Legend states that his mystical flute playing helped to turn winter into spring, and his playful carefree nature seemed to bring out the good in everyone. I think the world could use a few more Kokopellis….so I turned them into trees.
